Nike dares
to Zlatan
It started with Zlatan's nomination for FIFA’s ‘Goal of the Year’. For Nike and Zlatan’s fans, this was a big deal. So Nike wanted to capitalize on the momentous occasion by celebrating Zlatan’s brilliance - inspiring young footballers to take risks on the pitch just like him.
Thus, Dare to Zlatan was born.
For one day we took over Zlatan’s Twitter account (@Ibra_official), adopted his infamous attitude and tone, answered questions 1:1, and shared content and films all in an attempt to inspire teens to take more risks on the pitch.
It worked. Dare to Zlatan spread like wildfire, trended globally, selling out T-shirts and became one of Nike’s most successful social campaigns that would go on to become a model for future social campaigns to come.
